The Lingerie Francaise Paris runway show has everyone hot under the collar
Last Wednesday it was a hot night in Paris. No really, the Lingerie Française Paris runway show (held in Toronto) was boiling as the temperature hovered near 30˚C. Despite the heat and sweat dripping down the backs of attendees (mine included), people came in droves to Wychwood Barns to see the fall and spring 2011 runway presentation of high quality French lingerie.
Lingerie Française Paris is an annual event featuring the designs of some of France’s top lingerie houses: Chantelle, Empreinte, Passionata, Princesse tam•tam, Antinéa, Simone Pérèle and Lise Charmel. Titled, A French Rendez-Vous, this runway show offered a range of styles and colours to suit the palette of every woman; those looking for luxurious comfort or one ready to set the bed room ablaze.
Seeing beautifully constructed lingerie was a delightful change from the commercial lines found in shopping centres, often poorly designed.
I found the nudes hues of Simone Pérèle’s spring collection both enchanting and innocently seductive. While Antinéa by Lise Carmel’s fall collection is confident and sexy with its use of silk, lace and bold colours – the black and turquoise set is quite possibly one of my favourite pieces of the evening.
Included are some pictures I took during the night.
