Pastel colours are one of the major trends slowly but surely taking over the fashion radar this season. I remember pastels being extremely popular in the 1990s and this time around the colour is being compared to scoops of ice cream and sorbet. You wouldn’t think of fashion and food being paired together, but little do you know of the handful of hors d’oeuvres and finger food consumed at previews and cocktail events which substitute for everyone’s dinner for the evening.

Why I chose this shoe: the minute I saw this Dolce & Gabbana sandal it reminded me of Baskin & Robbins’ classic ice cream flavour, Daiquiri Ice. The shades of green leather used on this sandal is like the blending of lime and ice ingredients together to form that special flavour of ice cream; the darker green on the heel and platform, and the light green for the woven leather at the toe.
