Shoe of the moment: patent-leather and suede ombré wedges by Theyskens’ Theory

I LOVE pretty much anything from Theory. Having several pairs of pants from this clothing company, I can honestly tell you that I’ve never owned a pair that fit so well. Therefore, due to Theory’s close relationship to Belgian designer, Oliver Theyskens and his label Theyskens' Theory I discovered a pair of really interesting heels from the fall 2011 collection to highlight in today’s Shoe of the Moment entry.

Shoe specifications:

  • Outer, patent leather and suede
  • Colour, black and merlot
  • Heel height, 14cm (5.5 inches) with 5 cm (2 inch) platform

Why I chose this shoe: there are three features I find really interesting about these wedges by Theyskens' Theory. The first is the design of the shoe with its sky high wedge heel and delicate ankle strap, both contrasting elements when you think in terms of size and weight. This is followed by the materials used on the outer, leather and suede that seamlessly transitions from front to back; it’s flawlessly executed and appears to be cut from the exact same cloth. Lastly, I love the colour choices of black and a rich merlot colour which speaks to the pending fall season.
