I was interviewed by Katelyn Verstraten of the Toronto Star to share my advice on how to save money on shoes, which you can read about here. However, another shoe saving tip recently came to my mind and to share my extensive knowledge on this topic I give you this important advice: save any and all gift cards you own for a special pair.
For the past several months, I’ve been eyeing a pair of loafers from Nine West but hadn’t been in the mindset to commit to purchasing them. Until, last week, I stepped foot into the store and discovered the loafers were on sale – 50% off its regular price, plus another 40%! I couldn’t believe it. To add to this stroke of luck, I also had a gift card for the store which means I paid less than $20 for these shoes. This is what I call a Christmas miracle!
Now, if you’re looking to get the same pair as me, I have to be the bearer of bad news – these lovely loafers are sold out online. However, don’t give up hope, there is a small opportunity that you can still find them in store.
Intent on saving money when buying shoes? Take my advice outlined in the Toronto Star article and learn from my recent shoe shopping experience. No matter how long an unused gift card has been burning a hole in your wallet resist the urge to spend it needlessly, hold onto for something important like a great pair of shoes.
