I learned a very important lesson when on the hunt at a designer sale for a pair of shoes… always shop twice.
Twice a year The Room at Hudson’s Bay typically holds a large designer sale. When this sale is announced many high fashion lovers in the City of Toronto purposely book mid-morning meetings out of the office for this not-to-miss event. Shoppers arrive early to this sale, have their game faces on and stand ready to forgo all financial reason to score pieces they’ve been coveting for months.
Without question, every year, I always purchase a pair of heart-stopping shoes at this sale – Gianvito Rossi, Nicholas Kirkwood and 3.1 Philip Lim to name a few. Unfortunately, when I went to the sale this season, I didn’t find any shoes in my size which made my heart skip a beat – I was pretty disappointed.
However, I happened to go back to the sale a second time and – thanks to my good friend Hawley Dunbar – found these gorgeous, studded Alexander Wang heels. The important lesson I learned from this shopping experience is to never give up on finding yourself the perfect pair of shoes – even if you do have to revisit a sale twice in one day – and, most importantly, always bring a trusted friend.
