Would you believe me, if I told you, that this slick and sleek bootie is by Clarks? Ya, I had a hard time believing my eyes too.
Established in 1825, Clarks has a long reputation for producing quality shoes for men and women but was stuck with being known as a brand that catered to an older audience, and whose designs weren’t very fashion forward.
However, that reputation has surely and quickly dissolved in the last several years with celebrities and fashion designers, such as Rihanna and Christopher Raeburn, donning Clarks’ shoes. The British brand most notably cemented its cool status with millennials by being featured in the Vybz Kartel reggae song Clarks – we’ve all danced to this tune in the club or vibed to it in the car.
This year, the brand celebrated the 65th anniversary of its famed Desert Boot and, along with marking this special occasion, Clarks opened its first North American pop-up shop right here in Toronto. The shop carries the largest assortment of Clarks Originals shoes and boots from its fall 2015 collection in Canada.
One such boot which instantly caught my attention was the Coll Shore, a hybrid sneaker bootie. The thick, white rubber sole, lustrous black leather upper and minimalist design was hard to miss. Coupled with its lightweight composition and you have a shoe which you can wear to and from the office, and especially on the weekends. Find it in store or online.
Store location: 77 Bloor Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M5S 2B4.
