COS, H&M’s up market clothing store, recently opened its first store in Canada on Toronto’s trendy Bloor Street and I was there. COS stands for Collection of Style and was launched March 2007 in London offering clothing and accessories of men and women.
Located at 85 Bloor Street West, COS’s Toronto store consists of three floors laden with chic wares; sophisticated wool coats, white shirts of various cuts and, my favourite item, shoes. If you’re looking for good quality pieces that expertly combines classic elements with a modern twist this is your store.
The footwear dots the store and is a curated selection of what the brand offers online. COS’s shoe designs are very minimalistic and subtle, so subtle in fact I nearly overlooked this pleasant platform.
There are some shoes that look better on figure versus off figure, and these are one of them. I only took noticed when I saw Vanessa Cesario (The Brunette Salad) across the room wearing them. My eyes zeroed in on her footwear and when asked if they were from COS she responded “Yes.” Even now when I look at the off figure picture of these platforms – well – it doesn’t do it justice, trust me on this.
I’m very tempted to return to the store and buy it, but do I really need more black shoes after buy two other pairs in one month? Well… if they look that good on Vanessa then, maybe yes.
N.B: unfortunately, COS doesn’t ship to Canada yet, but word on the street is it will be coming in the near future. In the meantime, you can buy the shoes online and they have someone from the States ship it north of the border, because COS of course ;)
