The year 2014 is turning out to be an excellent year for fashion collaborations, much like the great, yet rare, red wine vintages of Bordeaux, France. First, there was the Sophia Webster for J.Crew, then Alexander for H&M and now Target has announced yet another heart palpitating designer collaboration; this time with American, luxury fashion brand Altuzarra.
Altuzarra is known for known for creating women’s clothing that combines modern silhouettes, French sophistication and American sportswear; for example, a navy cashmere wrap coat with oversized collar and sleek, knee-length sheath dresses perfect for the office.
Joseph Altuzarra, the brand’s founder, designer and creative director mentioned “As a designer, I believe firmly in the transformative power of fashion. It has the ability to not only change how you look, but also how you feel,” adding that “I’ve admired the elegance that Target brings to fast fashion. By working together on this capsule collection, we hope to instill a sense of power, confidence and beauty in women everywhere.”
