Converse is kicking it old school… like 343 years old school for fall 2013. The athletic footwear brand announced today that it partnered with Hudson’s Bay Company to launch a Jack Purcell sneaker collection using, for the first time, HBC’s iconic woolen multistripe blanket in its shoe design.
HBC’s signature multistripe pattern features four traditional colours popularized in the 18th century. The stripes has recently gained a modern-day cult-like following with people around the world who covet its HBC Collection line which offers home decor, clothing for both sexes and even a Burton snowboard.
The introduction of HBC striped Converse shoes fuels my already burgeoning obsession for the HBC Collection; I currently own two striped throws, a maxi dress, Evans breakfast tray, beach towel and several mugs, and that’s just a sampling!
The small capsule collection of striped shoes will come in three styles; Converse unisex Jack Purcell, Duck Boot and women’s Helen. It will be sold exclusively at Hudson’s Bay stores between $120-140 starting September 1, 2013.
