Hello 2013! It’s a brand new year and this entry marks my 701st blog post for The Souls of My Shoes. It’s crazy how time passes so quickly, feels like just the other day I was buying the domain name to this site and writing my first post.
To start 2013 on a fresh and positive note let’s talk New Year’s resolutions. What are yours? I have a few items that recur on my list, on an annual basis, and it usually goes something like this:
- Try something new (i.e. food, activity, places, etc) anything that I haven’t experienced before
- Save more money
- Try to shop less/Try to make smarter shopping choices… while trying to save more money
- Travel… while trying to save more money
- Practice more yoga
- Hit the gym more often and in a pair of hot kicks that will turn heads and make everyone jealous
I’m sure you’re wondering, “What does she mean by ‘a pair of hot kicks?'” Well, the only way to accomplish resolution #6 is by getting a pair of customizable Reebok shoes on my feet.
In mid-November Reebok brought the shoe customization technology to Canadians online, YourReebok, allowing customers to be their very own footwear designer. With over 2.8 million unique designs created in the US using this technology it was only a matter of time for the company to bring it north of the border where we have some die hard sneaker heads/shoeaholics.
As the designer using YourReebok you can personalize up to 23 different areas of the shoe with a choice of 19 colours, four materials and the option to add text. Prices can range from $99.99-$189.99. Visit www.reebok.ca to get your footwear floss on and your kicks could look something like this. Wooza!
